February 25th: Second Day-Editing Video using Final Cut Pro 6, establishing a core audience.
This day consisted of editing 3 to 5 minute clips from taped shows for future postings on Facebook, Youtube, and MySpace. It gave me the chance to learn how to "batch capture" footage which would be later be edited in detail. I was also given administrative status on KOCT's Facebook page to send out friend requests and establish a fan base consisting of north county and other San Diego regions.
First Day: February 21st 2010
The first day as head of social media for KOCT was an introduction into what my goals and objectives are from the company itself. I took a personal tour of the station and had the opportunity to see different types of equipment KOCT used on set and on location at their video shoots. I also had to think of thought-provoking questions to get people's attention and post them on Facebook.Afterwards, I had a meeting with the lead of website/multimedia specialist at the station on how are we going to collaborate and promote the underlying premise of the station of building community in the city by means of social media (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace).
