Tuesday April 13th: Uploading Content for Social Media
Today, I updated more information on the KOCT Facebook Fan page for all fans to stay connected with the content that KOCT wanted me to put on. I also tried to network to a various amount of other business located in Oceanside to gain more fans. The overall objective of using this type of Social Media is to promote to a younger audience. The fans have been exponentially rising, and with some success of fan interaction, I believe our goal of gaining at least 1,000 fans is not impossible.

Tuesday April 6th: first video shoot.
Immediately after I entered the office, I was put in charge of putting png bugs on a live video shoot for a debate about Oceanside being a charter city or not. I created labels for the individuals on screen, and putting the appropriate labels when conducted to do so by the head producer. I also worked the camera to film the debate on certain shoots. It gave me a good experience on the production techniques that are used in the professional setting.
Thurday March 25th: Productivity for Social Media
The day consisted of finding more friends for the social media network. From the initial start of the facebook page, the KOCT network station had only 23 fans, after I have conistently updated, managed and compiled content to put on KOCT, the number of fans have increased from 23 to 296 fans and is growing at an exponential rate. I also edited more videos for to stir up fan interaction on youtube as well. The original goal for the station was to promote to a younger audience for KOCT.

Tuesday March 23rd: Uploading Band Spectrum Pictures for Facebook
I finally got the chance to take the completely rendered video files from the producer's hard drive and post them on facebook and youtube. Also, upon the producer's request, I also had to establish a twitter account and add as many businesses that would be interested in associating themselves with the KOCT brand. It was a long and arduous task due to the faulty internet connections and slow download and upload speeds. I then offered to take the videos and add them sooner on facebook and youtube on my free time.
Thursday March 18th: Compressing Video files, Managing facebook account
Today's task was to compress video files for the web, and stir up discussion from fans via Facebook by altering content to allow interaction online. Some problems occurred when exporting the files by Quicktime with regards to the compression time needed to download them to the web.

Tuesday March 16th: Uploading Pictures for Facebook
The office time consisted of locating behind-the-scenes photos from the image bank at KOCT of cast members, production assistants, and directors in the action of completing a shoot. My director wanted me to promote the behind-the-scenes photos in order to let the public see what the production team goes through for every shoot. I also wanted to stimulate the facebook page, just so KOCT can gain any type of interaction with fans.
Friday March 12th: Video Shoot for Oceanside Museum of Art
I was very excited over the idea of being involved in the shooting of the event titled "Art after Dark" at the Oceanside Museum of Art for KOCT. Art after dark is a yearly event that is more geared towards the younger generation. With a 25 dollar admission fee, 20 dollars for OMA members, a person that is 21 years or older can drink wine, eat food, and enjoy the latest in contemporary movements of art. I helped out by carrying equipment, casting random people for interviews, and setting up equipment for the cameraman and grip. It was an overall great experience to see the process of transforming a random video into one for a publicly televised broadcast.
